LYDIA AVSEC DESIGNER / ILLUSTRATOR / ARTIST

Lydia Avsec is the designer behind Copilot Design, an independent studio based in Victoria, BC, specializing in branding, publications, campaigns and illustration for arts and cultural organizations. Her work combines strong concepts, typography, photography and original illustration to create distinctive visual identities and communications.

With more than 30 years of experience, Lydia has worked with arts organizations across Canada, developing long-standing relationships with clients in music, theatre, dance and the performing arts. Before founding Copilot Design in 2009, she worked in design studios and agencies in Ottawa, Calgary and Vancouver, building extensive experience in branding, print, production and creative direction.

As a solo practitioner, Lydia works directly with clients from initial concept through to final production. Original illustration remains an important part of her practice, with much of her work created traditionally in gouache on illustration board before being incorporated into the final design.
